I disagree with the I'm a Mac and I'm a PC impact. I first saw the Mac ads on TV and thought nothing of it - just a marketing gimic. Then by word of mouth and YouTube I thought the Mac ads were funny. That's it. No demonization there. I've never seen an I'm a PC ad but will YouTube it after I leave this comment.
In my oppinion Vista failed because it was buggy. The main selling point for Windows 7 is that it has had more work and is more stable.
As a technician, Vista was hugely more complex than XP - more steps or more ways to do things than in XP. I found that most disappointing.
As a developer, I'm staying clear of .net because of its speed and size, although the size of the distributables is not important with Vista and beyond because they're included with the OS.
My final point is that I'd be happy with Windows, Mac, and Linux in my home.

Subscription Windows??? Please that would really be the nail in Microsoft's Coffin.

If they pull a stunt like that it will not be received well by home users. Paying for windblows once is enough and in vista's case once too much.

I agree that we will definitely see the rise of Linux, but someone is going to change it and we will see the first Linux clone of Windows.

Imagine a version of Linux without all the command prompts and the crap that the Linux Geeks love to play with now..

Just imagine a simple no fuss version of Linux were you can just click & go without having to know passwords and endless strings of code just like you can do with Windblows.

No matter what Microsloth say; windblows 7 will just be vista with a few more bells & whistles and it won't save them or their reputation.

The bigger they are the harder they fall and Microsloth is going DOWN.It won't be a quick fall but they have got terminal Cancer now and their demise will start off slow but finish with a rush.

Good Riddance.....Go Linux
