1. Click on the and key in Device Manager and hit Enter.
2. Expand Disk Drives.
3. Right click on your hard drive and select Properties.
4. On the Policies , check Enable advanced performance.
5. Hit OK and close Device Manager.

    Always appreciate your tips, especially the tip on SATA for vista, I was also trying to speed up my External DVD burner, but I see it’s only for HD’s. Keep up the good work and know your knowledge is very benificial….But how do you get the RUN BOX to come up in Vista, thought I saw it here once but unable to locate it

    Stryker, Vista’s runbox is actually a search tool in the start menu.
    There is an empty bar underneath to type in.
    Or you could just hit Start Button+R =D
