I’ve already check your tip.
I try to shrink drive D (logical drive) & extend drive C (primary partition). After I shrink drive D, I got empty ‘free space’. Now I want to extend drice C. When I right click drive C ‘extend volume’ option is grayed out. Pls advise how to proceed?
After I check with another website, I found alternative option to use disk magament using:
Start > Run > diskpart.exe
I follow the screen & shrink drive D (logical drive) & when I extend drive C (primary partition), it says: ‘There is not enough usable free space on specified disk(s) to extend the volume.
Pls advise how to add that free space to drive C?

Abdul, I am trying the same to shrink my D drive and extend the C: on Vista, but get the same problem as you. Must be becuse C is the boot partition or something.
Did you manage to find a solution?

You can’t extend your Primary OS (C:) partion because it is an operating system drive so you can’t add free space to this partion so to speak, there is no way around that unless you use a program like partion magic which I recommend against because it doesn’t work that well with Vista.
Good one Microsoft.

very sad no one has the solution for this problem, that how to extend the C: partition. Actually the windows vista is very bad OS, it also took a lot of space about 20 GB. I am sick of this OS. microsoft worst OS is Windows Vista.
