How to Avoid Rapidshare and Megaupload Download Limits and Wait Times

Rapidshare is one of the most frustrating websites to download large files off of, especially if they are broken into many pieces while Megaupload positively shines in comparison. So why do people keep using these two services when more generous file hosts like Mediafire exist?

I can only guess that it’s simply because so many other people are using them. In order to get free premium Rapidshare accounts, which let you download unlimited amounts of files, users upload their own files onto Rapidshare, hoping enough people download them in turn so that the uploaders can earn enough premium points to qualify for a free account.

But it doesn’t have to be that complicated. You can get unlimited Rapidshare downloads more simply.

What you are going to do is request a new IP address from your ISP. This is assuming that you do not subscribe to an Internet service with fixed IP addresses.

First, figure out what your current IP address is by going to IP Chicken. Write down the series of numbers that are displayed. This is your current IP address.

Then, follow the steps below to get a new IP:

1. Go to Start->Run and type in “cmd” without quotes to bring up the command prompt. Hit Enter.

2. Type in “ipconfig /flushdns” without quotes and hit Enter.

3. Type in “ipconfig /release” without quotes and hit Enter.

4. Type in “ipconfig /renew” without quotes and hit Enter. You should now have a new IP address. Check your IP address at IP Chicken again and compare it to the one you got earlier.

5. Now, erase your browser’s cache and cookies.

6. Try downloading the Rapidshare or Megaupload file again.

Each of the download sites will restrict you after you reach their download limit but you can work your way around this. You can either use the methodHERE; Which shows you methods for Rapidshare or Megaupload, Or you may just Google it for yourself. P.S. This project is currently under construction for now.     This technique won’t support for Shared IP address, instead the IP address renewal is denied by the provider.

    it won’t work for one because the code on the .js file is old and part of it has to be rewritten, because rapidshare as done some updating…so in conclusion it will not work period.

    If your using a shared ip adress your most likely behind a router all you have to do is reboot the router that automatically renews the IP adreess

    This method is the same as disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet, all your other downloads (including emule etc.) will die as soon as you do ipconfig /release

    Ok. I can’t give you free premium accounts becouse people changing passwords and then I lose it… But you can use Universal Share Downloader. This is new, fully automatic program that will download files from RapidShare and other sites . It will enter activation ticket automaticly. Here is installation program but it’s not in english. Anyway after you install it you can change language to english or any other… For people who have problems with installation: Just click: “INSTALL” then ” dalje”, then “Yes” then “Dalje” and “Exit” . After you open it just go to Language botton at the top and change your laguage. Have fun.

    This will only work if you don’t have a router, and have dsl internet.
    If you are a cable subscriber you will need to change your machines MAC address.
    If you have a router, then you need to change the MAC address of your router…

    the best method is to go to a “wet market”. buy a nice salmon fish. Cook it. Eat it with basmati rice cooked with jeera. BINGO now you can click again & download rapidshare files without a time limit.

    Do this every time you get a time limit!

    Most methods to bypass Rapishare.com download limits do not work.
    Only one that I know is changing you IP manually and hoping that
    you get a new IP address as some of the above users posted.
    Sure, you can get lucky after 10 minutes of using a proxy
    switcher to find a proxy server that is not being used by another
    party, but most of the time trying to find a proxy not being used
    on Rapidshare.com is like trying to find a needle in the hay stack.
    You will most likely spend 15 – 60 minutes trying to find a proxy
    server not used by a second party, which to me is a waste of time.
    Sure you may have found one, but most of them are as fast as a 56k
    connection if not worst.

    If you try to bypass the time limit, on Rapidshare.com by using other
    methods like java scripts and the like that some lamers post on so many
    web forums. Do not be surprise that you won’t be able to download from
    Rapidshare.com again, you will only receive a message stating->
    “Your IP is already downloading a file.” and no matter what you do
    even if you manually change your IP and delete all cookies and browser
    history you won’t be able to use your fast original IP to download from
    Rapidshare.com until you have fix this problem with your browser.
    Let it not be said I didn’t warn you.

    This doesn’t work for Rapidshare. It may work for other sites, but not Rapidshare, so don’t hope for the best out of this. Anyways, B.M. is so right. Take his information and ignore this site since it won’t help you bypass RapidShare.

    You just have to disconnect internet connection, and after reconnecting, the activation time will resume to its basic activation time. Then you can download the next RAR file again.

    Well, uh… “To Idiots”, looks like you’re more an idiot than most, because the advice to change your IP address is as applicable as ever.

    I use the Tomato firmware (polarcloud.com), and one way I’ve found to force a new IP with my cable provider is to choose a random MAC ID in Tomato (i.e. for the WAN Port). Shut down (unplug) the cable modem before doing this. Then reboot the router, and plug in the cable modem. New IP address, at least with my provider.
