Posted on March 10th, 2007 by Jason

One of the Vista Ultimate Extras is a piece of eye candy known as DreamScene. It brings your desktop to life by allowing you to use video as your desktop background. To utilize this functionality, your graphics card must support the Aero interface and the videos must be .mpeg or .wmv format.

To Select from Windows DreamScene Content:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.

2. Select Desktop Background.

3. From the Location dropdown, select Windows DreamScene Content.

4. Select the video that is to become your background.

5. Click OK.

To Select from your own Videos:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.

2. Select Desktop Background.

3. From the Location dropdown, select Videos or Public Videos or Browse to the location of your video file.

4. Select the video that is to become your background.

5. Click OK.

You can also use Windows Explorer to browse to the video file, right-click the file and select Set as Desktop Background
