Ultimate Extras Announcement

When we launched Vista® in January 2007, we identified Ultimate Extras as a unique series of add-ons that would be available to Vista Ultimate customers. To date, we have released four sets of Extras Hold’Em, 16 Language Packs for the multi-language user interface, Secure Online Key Backup, and ™ Drive Preparation Tool. We want to let our Vista Ultimate customers know that we are actively working to deliver the remaining Extras that we identified in January. Our goal is to provide the highest-quality, most secure and reliable offerings, and as a result we are continuing our work on these offerings. Use BitLocker Drive Encryption without TPM chip

Vista includes a new hard drive encryption feature called Drive Encryption. can be a very useful security feature for businesses and home users that have sensitive and confidential information stored on their computer. Unfortunately, Drive Encryption by default requires a Trusted Platform Module ( Chip) version 1.2 or later installed in your computer. A lot of the computers and laptops on the market do not come with chips installed since they are typically only found in premium model business computers. If you have Vista Business, Ultimate or Enterprise but do not have a chip, you can still use Drive Encryption. (more…)
