Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is designed to evolve the RTM version of the latest Windows client from Microsoft, made available in November 2006 to business customers, and in January 2007 to the general consumers. Essentially, Vista SP1 is not a repeat of Windows XP Sp2, and outside of minor changes to the fabric of the operating system such as an overhauled Desktop Search mechanism, support for the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and kernel tweaks designed to bypass the PatchGuard (Kernel Patch Protection) security mitigation, the original architecture of Vista RTM remains unchanged.
In this context, the built-in super administrator account in Vista has survived to the first service pack. “In Windows Vista, the built-in administrator account is disabled by default. In previous versions of Windows, an Administrator account was automatically created during Out-of-Box-Experience (OOBE) with a blank password. An Administrator account with a blank password is a security risk. Jason There are many users who prefer not to enter their username and password at windows login, for the following reasons:
mainly because this would speed up the login process
decrease the hassle for them of entering username and password
But enabling autologon in windows vista is again a security risk, but may not be a problem if you are not worried about your documents and files being visible to someone else, This small tweak is basically for home users.
But don’t worry about registry editing this time as there is a small freeware called AutoLoggon that does this job like a charm for you (as shown in the image below). Read More»

Jason You will have to first login back to Windows Vista in case you forget your login password. Follow the steps as mentioned in this article and solve the problem.
One of the major problems in Windows is logging onto your PC when you have forgotten your password. Vista allows us to create a “password reset” disk if you forget your login password.

You may receive this message even if you recently changed your password when you were logged on to another computer that is connected to the network. If you changed your password on the other computer but have not logged on to the network again from the Windows Vista-based workstation, your cached credentials will not reflect the new password. Jason a) click Start and type ‘netplwiz’ or click that name on the Start menu
b) in the GUI window that comes up, uncheck the “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” box
c) click ‘Apply’
d) in the new dialog box that opens type the name of the account you want to auto-logon by default (if the account is not normally passworded then it blank)
e) click OK and exit

Jason Microsoft has enhanced security features in XP including the ability to create a floppy diskette to recover your password in case it is forgotten.
. Click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.
. Click on the account which you want to create a password disk.
. Click Prevent a forgotten password which starts the Forgotten Password Wizard . This is found under Related Tasks.
. Insert a blank, formatted disk into drive A, and click Next.
. Enter the password in the Current user account password box.

BIOS Backup: Sometimes the BIOS program on your motherboard can become corrupt and your PC will not function properly. So, you need to always keep a backup of a good version of the BIOS on a floppy disc. If something ever goes wrong with the BIOS, you can flash (overwrite) it with your backup.
