Speed-up log-in tremendously

If like me you’ve tried everything else and your log-in and log-off to XP is still slow then you might try this little trick. First, if there are any other users on your see if they have a similarly long log-in. If they don’t the problem might be your roaming profile, which is a folder where XP stores your settings you can access them from anywhere in the network. Since these profiles can get really (as in my case) and are not really necessary unless you log-in from different computers in a large network, you should disable it. Here’s how: (more…)

If you have been on the Internet for any length of time, you’ve probably ran across the topic of spyware, , or . Considering an Upgrade to Windows Vista

The fact that is offering several flavors of Vista should not be the primary concern when purchasing a new or upgrading an operating system, at least according to one analyst who suggests thinking about the kind of hardware you need first, and only then deciding what operating system you need or want to run on it.

Vista continued to eclipse technology news headlines on Thursday as everybody from industry analysts to tech bloggers to home users chime in on the arrival of ’s latest operating system.
