Restore Firefox Tabs on Windows

In the settings there is an option to show the “ and from last time” when starting up the browser. This is handy for anyone who wants to close their browser, but retain any and that were previously open for the next session.

Previously I never understood how this feature could be used to without the help of an extension. When I close I always use the red “X” in the upper-right corner of the window. Doing that, as expected, would only make remember the last window that I had open. (more…)

Missing Internet Explorer 6?

Some people hate change and I’ve had more than one person write about how they don’t like the new layout of Internet Explorer 7. So here are some quick tips how you can make it work more like the crappy old IE 6…

1) From the IE7 main menu at the top left under the box, click “Tools” and then “ Options”

2) On the “General” , click the “Settings” button under “”. Deselect “Enable Tabbed Browsing” and press “OK”

Vista Sigh

I just installed Vista Business on my laptop. I’d never advocate being an early adopter at the enterprise level, but I’m enough of a geek that I really wanted to get my hands on the latest and greatest. Having played with preview releases, I was certainly impressed by the polish, , and apparent security.

Besides, since my experience with 64-bit had been less than stellar and my wireless drivers had just crapped out on my latest Linux install (Fedora Core), I figured now was the time to move. We also have several new machines coming in that will be running XP, but are eligible for upgrade, so I wanted to start evaluating in our environment now. (more…)
