For anyone who is considering upgrading an existing PC to Vista, there are a couple of free downloads available from that you may find useful.

The Vista Upgrade Advisor will help you to determine if your XP-based PC can run Vista. You can also use the Upgrade Advisor to determine if your Vista-based PC is ready for an upgrade to a more powerful edition of Vista. The Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) version 5.0 contains the necessary tools and documentation to evaluate and mitigate application compatibility issues before deploying Vista, a Update, or a new version of Explorer in your environment.
