UltraVNC PC-to-PC Remote Control

VNC unhelpfully stands for “Virtual Network Computing.” It is a standard for handling remote control. It started life as a Bell Laboratories project, and has become the core of a whole family of open source and products.

A particularly nice feature of is an add-on called SingleClick. With SingleClick, whoever is at the computer to be controlled can instantly make it a VNC server without having to have pre-installed the . (It’s a mini version of the Server that can be customized and preconfigured for easy download by a Customer. In this scenario, the SingleClick server initiates the connection, thus allowing easy access through a customer’s firewall.)

Other add-ons include various options for dealing with situations where one, or both, ends of the connection are behind an NAT router.
