My roommate has a Dell Latitude laptop and she has recently attempted to install Vista SP1. Everything but the OS loads up. The problem is she's going to school and she uses it on her school work.

Every time she powers up her computer, it says

'WINDOWS VISTA SP1 CANNOT INSTALL. REVERTING WINDOWS. DO NOT SHUT DOWN COMPUTER.'

When she leaves it alone, in about 5 minutes, it shuts off. Now here's the strange part, she went through the diagnostic checks and there is nothing wrong with her computer. She tried to recover the data. No go. She can't get rid of the thing because she can't power her laptop up correctly, even in safe mode...

Please help.
