In addition to sound problems, my 64 bit pc would no longer print and the other did not nothing. I fixed both problems by restoring to a pre SP2 condition and hiding SP2. Any update that causes this many problems is defective. May take another look at WIndows 7 (though I have had numerous driver issues on a 3rd test bed pc). Or else start migrating to Linux, between resource requirements and poorly done updates, Micrsoft is becoming more trouble than its worth.

This would probably solve my sound problem, but Vista won't let me update Realtek AC'97, saying it's not signed or something.
